Positive Review
Bought this car with 9,000 miles on the odometer and have had absolutely zero issues with the car. Have only brought it into the shop for oil changes. Have driven this car from Washington to Florida and back 3 times with zero problems. Just hit 60k miles and runs like new.
Critical Review
Transmission issues, and noisy engine. This car is the worst of all time. Already trying to get out of it.

Performance & Drivetrain. Quiet, refined, and a great value
Could have some support in the cup holder
The Jetta is a stylish sedan with plenty of room and plenty of power for the class. It’s also quieter than most. Its European roots are in full display when driving, giving just the right amounts of road feel and comfort. Tons of standard features and a good price point make this the underrated underdog. Traded in a Corolla for this. I could never take that on a road trip. The Jetta is a joy on a trip, all while returning over 40mpg.
price and quality
boring design, nothing changed for years
I bought this car by the end of 2018 as a 2019 model, besides replacing tires and brakes I only had to replace batter about 2 years ago. Very good quality. I drove this car privately and for Uber/Lyft
this is the most economical vehicle I have ever owned, on major road trips I've realized 47 MPG on interstate driving and 44 Mpg on everyday trips.
Good small car

quick enough, quite cabin, comfortable seat
VW hill Assist
kind of sketchy about the updated 1.5t engine jetta sport manual originally, but after 10k miles over a bit more than half a year, I am quite happy with it. This car easily gets in the middle of 40 miles/gallon does not matter how you drive it unless you really floor it in the lower gears for unnecessary speeding. The cabin is quiet comparing to Japanese economy class cars, decent acceleration on 2nd and 3rd gear, and it has some flares to be frankly and some bit engaging too. The inside is cheap but functional, you don't get distracted by those modern fancy stuff, it's like a car serves more than adequate in any way, even the audio isn't really bad, apple play, no issue too. The only thing I think is an issue is the VW uphill function, which will release the brake depends on the degree of the slope, and sometimes people behind would think: what's wrong with this guy in the front, wait for couple of seconds to move forward. Also you have to release the brake pedal first, and then wait for the brake holding release while disengage the clutch and give gas at the same time. During this process, the car will roll back a little bit for sure. I don't like this at all, stupid sensing tech, miss the old hand brake for sure.
Plenty of power, excellent gas mileage, just big enough, handles well. Nice ride with above average gas miles, very important !
